I started out with a poem that somebody had sent me with all the new age stuff about dance like nobody is watching and live in the now, etc, etc. I am sure many have seen it. I got someway into a “serious” song and thought I should maybe write a song making a bit of light hearted fun about it all. The result was this song which I wrote in about ½ an hour flat.

They tell me I should dance like no-one watching
Id sure like to sing like no-one cares
when I dance why do my friends make fun of me
My neighbour shuts her door when I play
Burn the candles use the best sheets
Wear my fancy underwear
Why is this impossible when you're not here
Won t wear my fancy underwear
They tell me I must give attention to the now
Not dwell on the past I cannot change
Fret about the future is the very worst
Life so uncertain gonna eat my pudding first
Burn the candles use the best sheets
Wear my fancy underwear
Why is this impossible when you're not here
Won t wear my fancy underwear
Kiss slowly love deeply
let go of what you need
This is just unthinkable when lifes no longer sweet
Won t wear my fancy underwear
Burn the candles use the best sheets
Wear my fancy underwear
Why is this impossible when you're not here
Won t wear my fancy underwear
